Temporary Closing of Sewing Alley

Sewing Alley will be closing on Febuary 13, 2009 for a short time. I have been very busy (thank you!!) and need to catch up on sewing for my own family. My son keeps asking for spiderman pants. :)

I am planning to re-open sometime in April so please check back here for updates. If you would like an email letting you know of the re open date please join the newsletter through the link at the top of the blog. If you have a discount code that expires during the period I am closed please feel free to send me an email with the code. I will send you a new discout code with a later expiration date to use once I re-open.

Thanks for all of you business and I will "see" you in a few months.

The Spotted Box

I am excited to announce that Sewing Alley will be in the Spotted Box for January!

Never heard of The Spotted Box? Here is some information from the website. www.thespottedbox.com

What is it?
The Spotted Box is a box of family-oriented, eco-friendly samples from independent crafters, all packaged together and sent directly to you! Designed with the young family in mind, these handmade samples are focused on children and their mothers.

What does it have in it?
The Spotted Box can include samples like: Bath and body, doublers, candles, bookmarks, candy, stationery, bibs, wool food, toys, paper arts, wipes, wool wash, tarts, mama pads, dish clothes, teas, food, dog treats, gift certificates, magnets, pens, hair products, jewelry and more! Each month it changes depending on the participants.

How do I get one?
The Spotted Box go on sale the 15th of every month at the The Spotted Box cart.

What is The Best of The Box?
Its a product chosen to be one of the best in that month's Spotted Box, the business that gets the honor receives a banner ad in the listing as well as an additional free box.

Here are some pictures of the samples I sent in. 3 ounce samples of Sewing Alley Play Dough. The size of a regular play dough ball is almost 16 ounces! 3 ounces seemed a perfect sample size while still being useable.

Samples in production. Each batch was divided and weighed into 3 oz balls. The balls had to cool before they were bagged.

60 samples in all!
